When looking for a suitable wired conference microphone it can be tempting to buy the cheapest one you can find, but this may not always be the best option. Sometimes it is better to pay for what you want rather than getting something you don't really need, and whilst you can get a great quality microphone at a bargain price, it is sometimes the case that paying slightly more for a high quality microphone is worth it. For example, if you are attending several networking events a month then you may benefit from a headset rather than a general wireless microphone so you can be sure that people hear you clearly and will want to engage with you. The same is true if you are presenting at an awards evening where there is a lot of noise and background chatter around you.
There are three main elements to a good quality wired conference microphone, the condenser microphone, the amplifier, and the diaphragm. The diaphragm acts as the capsule that captures all the vibrations and sounds for your speaker's ears and transmits them to the amplifier. The amplifier takes the vibrations and converts them into sound waves, these then travel through the headpiece and speakers to the speaker you are speaking to. The speaker then converts the sound waves back into vibrations which are then sent to the computer for transcription. So in order for your speaker to reproduce the sounds correctly you need to have a good quality diaphragm, a condenser microphone and an amplifier that are able to handle large volumes.
If you are trying to decide between a Blue microphone, the speaker, or a standard Bluetooth microphone then I would suggest going for the microphone as they have more features and are more refined, especially for presentations. The Blue microphone is a very popular microphone and many people prefer it to the due to the fact that it has a lot more flexibility and it is wireless. However, as I mentioned before it is worth spending slightly more for a quality microphone as they are very hard to beat when it comes to any given product category. And when it comes to audio equipment and microphones there are few things more versatile and useful than the Blue microphone. Good luck on your search.
